What do we allow on Folklore?: Folklore allows equids of all forms, including horses, ponies, donkeys, mules, zebras, and extinct breeds of horses (assuming they meet our height minimum and maximums.) This is further expanded by our allowance of pegasus, unicorn, alicorn, hippocampus, and every other collection of fantasy equine under the sun.
Examples of allowed aesthetic magic...
Glowing wings, wings that can appear/disappear, flowers when you walk, a 'veil' used to hide a primary appearance, etc.
Okay, cool! What... else do we allow?:
»
Native and non-native are both welcome, with no restrictions to either.
» Minor telekinesis is ingrained in all residents, native or not. (I.e, the ability to hold weapons, carry objects, etc)
»
All accessories, outfits, items, and prosthetics are permitted with the exception of firearms or any items which have usable magic incorporated (aesthetic magic is fine, enchanted items are not).
» All appearances are permitted as long as the character is obviously equine in nature (character head must be obviously equine-shaped with add-ons such as tentacles, sharp teeth, big ears, beak, feathers, etc. so long as it plainly represents and equine) and does not contain over 50% mechanical features.
This includes equines that are skeletal or 'dead' in appearance. So long as they are not ACTUALLY undead, we accept them. Undead characters must have a magic, or another character's magic, on-site keeping them alive.
What if I wanted to join an actual undead character?
Well, characters on Folklore must fall into
at least one of these three categories:
» Organs. Yay, your character has functioning organs!
» Magic. They have to be sustained by some type of magic. For incoming characters that don't yet meet the post requirement for a magic quest, they must be sustained by the magic of someone already on site. Once they are able to possess their own magic (or quest for option 3, below), they will then be able to sustain themselves if you choose to have them do so.
» Immortality. They have to possess immortality as a means to keep them alive. This doesn't necessarily mean that they do not age, just that they are being kept alive by some otherworldly means. Aging or not aging with immortality in this scenario is totally up to your discretion and can be noted in your character's profile, wherever you choose to do so.
Avatars will resize automatically regardless of where they are listed. That said, 250x350 works best.
Signatures may include footnotes, small depictions of art, or plot status.
