On Folklore, we used human ages to age our characters. Additionally, an in-game year is equated to
one real life year, wherein players may use 'magic' to age their characters at their discretion,
within reason. If you're unsure of how old your character should be if you're accustomed to using horse ages, please refer to
this chart.
Characters must be at least 17 years old to live independently. Characters younger than 17 joining Folklore must be joining with a parental guardian, or with an imminent plot wherein they will be adopted to safety.
We do not allow immortal children or any characters that will not age beyond childhood.
Mortal characters can live to be 80 years old before they will pass from old age.
Breeding can be completed anytime by submitting a
Foal Stats Request Form. Both parents must be
at least 25 years old. A template will be provided to share these requests. Requests for specific foal stats can always be made, however, Magic Level and Magic Type are entirely up to a randomizer.
Please bear the following in mind...
- For same sex breedings, the players involved can choose which character will carry the foal, or can find another character in-game and request they be the surrogate.
- The foal can be birthed 30 days after the foal stats have been posted.
- The character that carries the foal to term must wait 60 days after birthing before they are able to conceive again.
- Once the foal’s character account has been created, they will be added to the database and Folklore’s Birth Records.
-
Aging: Foals can be speed-aged if the player chooses to do so.
-
Any character under the age of 25 cannot conceive.
Why does my character have to be 25 to conceive?
The staff feels strongly on matters where grooming, child predation, etc. occur. Folklore is not the place to explore such topics in literature. While we wholeheartedly agree and understand that, in real life, the age of consent is 18 (in the USA) and that said persons are wholly capable of making their own decisions, it is not within our interest to see narrations of teen/young pregnancy occur, particularly where huge age discrepancies may coincide. We stand firm on this rule, and will not be altering it.
